We do have netinstall 5.8 and osd 3.2 running. There is a need to run RIS at the same time as well. I have been told that netinstall has a full ris service already included. Unfortunately I can't find anything about it in the manuals.

ris service means, I want the full functionality as the old ms ris, where you made an image of a pc including os and all programms which you stored on a server and were able to distribute them. I do not care if this image can be deployed on pc with different hardware or not.

What do I have to do to get this old ris handling working without destroing the running netinstall system?

Thank you very much,
Waltereit

Hi,

why you want to do this job with RIS? You can do this also with OSD.

OSD have similar function as RIS. Maybe that is what you heard about. With RIS you must do more manually as with OSD.

The best thing would to upgrade your OSD with PE 2.x and use ImageX with Sysprep.

Regards
Stefan
